Why Switzerland

A country where things simply work

Moving to Switzerland means arriving in a country that is calm and reliable. You can walk through its cities at ease in the evening, the trains run to a regular timetable, and the authorities are accessible and predictable.

Switzerland is small, multilingual and open. German, French, Italian and English are part of everyday life, and Milan, Paris or Munich are only a few hours away. Universities, research and business sit close together, creating an economy that stays curious and attracts talented people.

The state spends with restraint. Taxes are largely set by the cantons and municipalities, close to the people who pay them. This keeps the burden low, for families and companies alike.

Lucerne combines all this with a special quality of life: between lake and mountains, with a lively old town and short journeys to Zurich and the rest of Switzerland.

Experience

Experience with companies and the families behind them

At a family office, I supported the structures of wealthy families and individuals with numerous companies. The focus was on coordinating the various companies and private wealth, international tax matters, compliance towards banks and public authorities, and often private matters as well. Today I bring this experience to international clients who are looking for a dedicated point of contact in Switzerland.

Examples

Typical situations

1

Relocating to Switzerland

A business family is planning to move to Switzerland and is keeping shareholdings abroad.

How I help

Before the move, I work with the family to clarify which cantons and municipalities are suitable and how the foreign shareholdings and income will be taxed in Switzerland. I coordinate the necessary clarifications with the advisers in the current country of residence. After the move, I take care of the Swiss tax returns and keep the documents from both countries together.

2

Swiss companies

A foreign company sets up a Swiss subsidiary and needs ongoing support on the ground.

How I help

I coordinate the formation with the notary and the bank, set up accounting, VAT and payroll, and prepare the financial statements and reporting so that they fit into the group accounts. The parent company thus has one dedicated point of contact in Switzerland who keeps track of deadlines, taxes and corporate documents.

3

Private individuals and families

A family is looking for help with the overview and administration of its Swiss companies and assets.

How I help

Companies, real estate and banking relationships have grown over the years, and the documents are held in different places. I bring the information together in one overview, look after the tax matters and keep track of deadlines and appointments. I liaise directly with banks, lawyers and tax advisers, so the family does not have to coordinate every question itself.

Process

How we start working together.

Whether you are relocating, setting up a new company or having your affairs looked after from abroad: getting started takes less effort than many expect. I take care of the coordination with everyone involved so that no deadlines are missed.

  1. Initial meeting

Without obligation, in person in Lucerne or by video, wherever you are. We can talk in German, English, French or Croatian. You describe your situation, and I tell you openly whether and how I can help.

  2. Analysis

I review your personal, family and business situation, including your ties abroad, and note which questions need to be clarified in Switzerland and where other specialists should be involved.

  3. Proposal

You receive a written proposal with a clearly defined scope and fee. It also sets out which tasks I take on and what remains with your advisers abroad.

  4. Handover

I coordinate the relocation or the formation with the notary, the bank and the authorities and take over existing documents, access and deadlines in an orderly way from the previous parties. Where needed, I set up accounting, VAT and payroll from the start.

  5. Ongoing support

Fixed dates for closing, tax returns and reporting, including to owners and advisers abroad. In between, I am your point of contact in Switzerland whenever questions arise.
